DHRTC supports Geological Student Symposium in Aarhus 2018

Monday 20 Nov 17

The Geological Student Symposium 2018 is an event, which focuses on building social network among geology students. This matches the Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Center's (DHRTC) way of thinking about collaboration. A grant has been given to the symposium to strengthen the teamwork between DHRTC and Aarhus University.

About 250 students from Scandinavia and Germany are expected to meet and network at the next Geological Student Symposium. The event is a great opportunity for geology students to meet future employers and be acquainted with new academic and professional areas during the three days the students are together in Aarhus.

Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre (DHRTC) supports the Symposium with an amount of DKK 50,000.

"The rationale for the decision is that this is an event which will strengthen the collaboration between DHRTC and Aarhus University. Moreover, I believe that it will contribute to the recruitment of upcoming graduates into the oil and gas field, by attracting the Geoscience students not only from Aarhus University, but also from the rest of Denmark, Scandinavia and Germany," says Gülnur Dogan, DHRTC Local Focal Point at Aarhus University.

"We are really happy for the support from the DHRTC. We see the Centre as a new but major player in the oil&gas scene in Denmark, and we are really excited about interacting more with the DHRTC employees," adds Anders Dahlin, MSc student at Department of Geoscience, Aarhus University.

The event takes place from the 23rd to the 25th of February 2018 at Aarhus University.
