The key word for the function as Local Focal Point (LFP) is collaboration. As LFP at DTU, Lene Hjelm Poulsen works as the primary facilitator between research groups at Technical University of Denmark and the Centre for Oil and Gas – DTU (DHRTC). She enhances the collaboration between the researchers and assists DTU employees with any question they might have about the Centre.

Two crucial components in DTU’s foundation are interdisciplinarity and a mutual respect for each other’s professional competences. As Local Focal Point, Lene Hjelm Poulsen’s work revolves around these exact components.

“It is all about the collaboration and the research results you can reach through the collaboration”, states Lene, and continues, “I am here to help all DTU employees. Whether you have questions or are curious about the on-going or evolving research, the events or educational activities related to DHRTC, you can always come to me”.

Before appointed LFP, Lene Hjelm Poulsen had several different job functions in the Centre such as Programme Manager and Technology Advisor. Hence, she knows the Centre and its research programs very well. Most recently, she worked with the Radical Innovation Sprint, where she was a key person in the development and execution of the concept. As a member of the Radical Innovation Sprint team, she has helped participants mature there ideas and passed on her knowledge on oil and gas production. Now she is ready to strengthen and expand the bond between DTU's many research groups and the Centre.

Lene has a special interest in environmental sustainability and hopes that the researchers at DTU can contribute in helping the industry in the development of more sustainable solutions to the oil and gas production in the North Sea. She has an extensive background in both research and industry and has formerly conducted research in the environmental area, giving her a unique combination of knowledge within the fields of oil and gas production and the environmental area.

Local Focal Points across the partnership

Each of DHRTC’s five partner institutions – Aarhus University, University of Copenhagen, Technical University of Denmark, GEUS and Aalborg University – have a Local Focal Point. They work as your local contact and you are free to contact them with all questions regarding DHRTC.

Besides Lene Hjelm Poulsen, DTU, the LFPs are Christian J. Bjerrum, University of Copenhagen, Gülnur Dogan, Aarhus University, Marco Maschietti, Aalborg University, and Peter Frykman, GEUS.
