Radical Innovation Sprint 2020

The deadline for submitting ideas for the Radical Innovation Sprint 2020 has been reached. The Radical Innovation Team is now reading through the many submitted ideas.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As per 9 March all remaining sessions and workshops have been cancelled due to COVID-19. However, WE ARE STILL HERE TO SUPPORT YOU. In the current situation we encourage you to reach out to the Radical Innovation Team for individual (Skype/phone) discussions about ideas or your area of expertise. You can find contact information here

At Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre we want to investigate all ideas that might improve the production of oil and gas in the Danish North Sea – no matter how crazy or wild they might seem.

DHRTC’s Radical Innovation Sprint offers funding to people who have radical ideas with the potential to change the oil and gas industry. Over the last three years, 25% of submitted radical ideas were funded. Anyone can apply for the Radical Innovation Sprint 2020. We urge you to participate in one of our sessions or workshops during February, March and April. However, it is NOT a prerequisite to apply.

Applicants might be new to oil and gas and even practice a discipline that is normally completely unrelated to the oil and gas industry. You might also be familiar with oil and gas research. Regardless, we would like to engage with you to combine your idea with our knowledge.

An external committee will evaluate the submitted radical ideas anonymously and recommend which ideas to fund. The committee consists of researchers, people from the oil and gas industry, neighbor industries and people with an innovative mindset.

Things you need to know

  • The funded research sprint MUST be conducted between 1 September to 30 November 2020
  • Your idea has to have a line of sight to application in the Danish oil and gas industry in the North Sea
  • Specialists from DHRTC can help you mature your idea prior to submission of your application
  • You do NOT have to be a researcher from one of the partner institutions to apply for funding.
  • You submit your idea by completing the application form and sending it via e-mail.
  • You may apply without interacting with DHRTC prior to submission.
  • The applications will be evaluated in anonymized form by a committee known only to the Radical Innovation Team.

Sessions and workshops in spring 2020

The Radical Innovation Team completed half their road trip across the partnership before COVID-19 altered our daily (working) life. However, if you missed out don’t hesitate to contact the team. We are open to collaborate with anybody and support you throughout the process. This means that no matter where and by whom you are hired you are welcome to contact anyone in the Radical Innovation Team or your local LFP.
