Do you have solid experience with Development tasks in the E&P business and a strong track record within technical execution of development or research projects? Then you might be the Reservoir Engineering advisor that we are looking for at DHRTC.

The Organization
DHRTC (also called Centre for Oil and Gas – DTU) was established in 2014 by the Danish Underground Consortium and DTU. The Centre has received a starting grant of DKK 1 billion for a 10-year period. As part of the National Strategy on Oil and Gas, the research Centre is an ambitious, targeted effort to enable increased recovery of oil and gas from the Danish sector of the North Sea. The Centre’s objectives are to progress knowledge and solutions with application potential, and to contribute to research-based teaching programs. The Centre operates in close collaboration with the industry and other research institutions. The Centre aims at stimulating cross-disciplinary collaboration and dialogue where insight in existing fields and technologies meets knowledge of new technologies. We believe that radically new ideas often reside in the interface between disciplines.

The Team
You will be part of the Technology Maturation group, which is responsible for the technical integration of the research results and for technical support to the partnership research community and DHRTC Programme Management. Members of the group are all experienced oil industry professionals and they are responsible for providing an industry perspective and experience to the research community.

Responsibilities and tasks
It will be your responsibility to develop and maintain technology demonstration models, within your area of expertise. Demonstration models are directed towards integrating various areas of research into applicable and commercially viable solutions with high impact for the oil & gas production in the North Sea.

Primary tasks:
  • Collaborate with industrial- and research colleagues in maturing demonstration models to show impact of research solutions incl. risk, economics, technical description, simulations etc
  • Create a bridge between research and oil and gas technologies to ensure compatibility and integration
  • Design and implementation of the Technology Readiness Level maturation model in collaboration with researchers and the programme management team
  • Identification of relevant industry data that can be used to provide solutions in collaboration with our industry – and research colleagues

Your Profile
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in engineering or equivalent with more than 15 years of diverse industry experience within reservoir engineering.

Extensive knowledge of the tight carbonate reservoirs in the Danish North Sea and a proven track record of working with field development, reservoir simulation modeling, EOR and cross disciplinary technical studies is a requirement. Additional exposure from working with other areas of oil and gas such as production chemistry, drilling and completion is a plus. Furthermore, it is crucial that the candidate has worked with offshore data collection, data uncertainty and well testing.

Solid communication skills are a must. The candidate should have the ability to engage in detailed discussion with researchers and at all time be able to maintaining line of sight towards industrial application vs. research publication. Thus the ideal candidate is familiar with (applied) research environments. DHRTC is a network organization and the candidate should be willing to travel to partner institutions when need be.
